The mother province-Assisi Province Trichur which was started by Rev. Mother Clara and Rev. Mother Louisa in 1910 was divided into three on 4th October 1979  as Assisi Province Trichur, Alvernia Province Irinjalakuda, and Seraphic Region Palghat. Seraphic region was with 109 members and 9 houses in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and 2 houses in Lucknow diocese U.P. Rev. Sr. Jane Frances was appointed as the first Regional Superior. On 3rd February 1980 Seraphic Vice Province was officially inaugurated and Rev. Sr. Jane Frances was elected as the first Vice Provincial. By the grace of God, Seraphic Vice Province was raised to the level of a Province with 210 members and 20 houses in 1986. Rev. Sr. Jane Frances was the first Provincial Superior. In 1999, 42 sisters opted for the mission in U.P. The North Indian mission of Palghat grew fast and it spread its branches in different diocese i.e. Bareilly, Delhi, Lucknow and Gorakhpur
