San Jose school started on 1st June 1979 in a rented house. Sisters stayed in Good Shephered, Karamadai and came to Mettupalayam for running the school. On 5th May 1980 San Jose Convent was brought to life in the same place. Then started construting the convent and the school in the newly bought site. On Dec. 13th 1981 sisters shifted to the new site. San Jose Matriculation school is now a higher Secondary school having good strength. The main apostolate is education. Sisters teach catechism, do parish work and animation in pious nassociations. They do house visiting also.
